Half of my year studying aboard ✅

Great job, you did it. Was it all a walk in the park? Shore! It’s just that sometimes the park was filled with quick sand and dumpster fires and poisonous berries. But, we mustn’t dwell on the past. Here are some tips I have for you (future me) for the next half:

• Bring ample copies of all important documents.

I started out with 4 copies of my passport photo and I used all of them. Plus, I had to get more when I was in Thailand.

• Bring a fanny pack.

Not only are they making a comeback this holiday season, they also might reduce the chance that a motorcyclist will snag it off your unsuspecting shoulder… no promises though.

I actually already owned a fanny pack, I just didn’t bring it with me. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty sure I spurred the revival of the trend back in 2013 when I purchased my own. This is just like the time I started wearing high-top chuck taylors in the first grade.

If my prediction is correct then, based on my current fashion decisions, y’all should invest in shirts with hair-dye stained colors and ever-so-slightly-askew glasses. They’re gonna be so hot next season.

• Actually budget before you get to your destination.

Money is the root of all evil. And money comes from wallets and my wallet will be kept in my fanny pack which will be slung around my torso close to my heart. You know how the saying goes: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
